FOLDING, WARPING AND FAULTING#
The terms folding, warping, faulting are related to the geomorphology. this is a topic of geography.



FOLDING:

- Folding is a type of earth movement resulting from the horizontal compression of rock layers by internal forces of the earth along plate boundaries.
- Upfolds are termed anticlines. The downfolds are termed synclines.
- Folding resulted in the Himalayan Mountains, Alps etc.,

The slight bending of the Earth's crust on a broad or regional scale, either upward (upwarping) or downward (downwarping); the formation of a warp.
FAULTING:

- Faulting happens when the Earth’s crust completely breaks and slides past each other.
- Rocks along a fault tend to move in opposite directions.
- Faulting results in the formation of block mountains and river valleys like the Narmada, Tapi .
