INDIA-ASEAN RELATIONS#

 ASEAN is nothing but The Association of south east Asian nations.


  • ASEAN is a political and economic union of 10 member states in Southeast Asia.
  • It brings together ten Southeast Asian states – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – into one organization.
  • It was established on 8th August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand .

  • Look-East Policy in 1992 gave an upthrust to India -ASEAN relation and helped India in capitalizing its historical, cultural and civilizational linkages with the region.
  • India entered into a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in goods with the region in 2003 which has facilitated the bilateral trade.
  • So, you can say it is a strong trading partner of India. Free trade agreement is nothing but trade without Tariffs, Quotas, duties and Taxes.
  • SIGNIFICANCE OF ASEAN FOR INDIA :
  1. Improves connectivity and infrastructure of north east states, this will lead to progress and development of this region.
  2. A security for China's aggressive policies.
  3. Improves maritime engagement, which leads to reduction in crimes and illegal activities( piracy, trafficking ) in the Indo-pacific region.  
  4. Improves economy of the country.
  5. The regions of ASEAN countries  also connect to India historically and culturally ( Hinduism and Buddhism got spread to south east Asia) .

PINNACLE#2023 DAY 2

  In the morning doesn't really felt to wake up but , eventually waked up at 6:40 in the morning . Got dressed and prepared everything for the event. Got to Banjara Hills by 10 AM, just after entering the college we got into the seminar hall and were ( me and uma) ready for the extempore event( JAM). I got a topic about money lobbying , does not really know much about the topic, so didn't say much and ended too soon(about 15seconds). But I felt that this act of 15 sec gave confidence to the other people to say the little they know, and everyone just said what they knew. Then came to the auditorium and sat for some time and left for making reels , but nothing worked out and the song we thought of doing was actually tried by many others. but I felt uniqueness was missing, so I convinced the fellows not to do. Then came to auditorium and sat for some time, and then went to have lunch, as expected the food was great. One thing I personally liked from the pinnacle event is money man...
