DOWRY#

 As I am surfing net, I got a reel where the interviewer asks the interviewee a question which goes like this " you are getting married and your wife's father wants to Gift her a car. would you accept this" this was the question. there are 3 versions to this question, viz.,

1. In this version the groom or his family if asks or demands this car is directly considered as a dowry. which is a punishable crime.
2. In other version the interviewee understands the hidden intention of the interviewer i.e, dowry, and says that it is an obligation to me and my family so, I would not accept that gift. But dowry by definition itself means that the payment made by bride or her family to groom or his family on the event of marriage.
3. Here comes my version, According to the question the groom or his family are not asking or demanding gifts. but the father himself is giving a gift to his daughter. who am I to object? what if the same question is asked to the bride that ' would you want your husband to accept a car as a gift from his father on the occasion of your marriage? ' the bride obviously says his wish i.e,, the grooms wish. the point is before becoming my wife she is his daughter, its her choice. Here what matters is not acceptance of groom, but willingness of bride to accept that gift. If she wants she can take it. 
   

The interviewee is a UPSC topper and AIR 02 in 2018 batch and he is an IAS officer. he did not even said that ' its her wish or something like giving suggestion not to take ' but he clearly objected that he would not accept that car without even asking his wife. clearly he do not respect people interests , how could he be eligible for that post? Most of them just act in the interviews and become officers. we often see in news that the civil servants are being corrupt. one of the important reason is this kind of selection. 

we see lot of mock interview sessions held by coaching institutes. they train the aspirants to be in a particular way which generally is not their personality, so the aspirants get selected by this fake nature. the nature of aspirants may not be bad, some of them are even good. But at the end of the day the people who are not eligible are also getting job.

The UPSC interview is taken for judging the personality of all the people who have passed in the mains. but because of this coaching institutes the interviewers are finding difficulties in suggesting eligible candidates for the post. so eventually we see news on corruption. This is a serious loss to the government and the people. so this is also an important reason for India for still being a developing nation.
